Houston Rodeo: World’s Championship Bar-B-Que Contest at NRG Park

Marking the true start of Rodeo sason, the World’s Championship Bar-B-Que Contest—most often referred to as "the cookoff" returns to NRG Park. 

While more than 250 teams will compete for the winning title, visitors can walk the grounds and look at the countless team and corporate tents set up around NRG Park.

While the tents are private and accessible only by invite, all visitors can explore public venues like The Garden stage featuring up-and-coming Texas country performances, the, Rockin' Bar-B-Que Saloon, and the Chuckwagon‚ where ticketed visitors  can pick up their complimentary sliced brisket plate with chips and beans. 

The carnival is open, for wild rides and fun games.

The Garden Stage, sponsored by Miller Lite, features some of the best up-and-coming and established artists in Texas country. The Rockin' Bar-B-Que Saloon also features live and DJ music, and has an outside patio for visitors to enjoy. 

Grounds tickets are required for anyone with a private tent pass.
