Sounds of Freedom: Pioneers & Notables of Galveston’s Black Music History at the Galveston Island Convention Center

Nia Cultural Center presents the 2023 Juneteenth Symposium, Sounds of Freedom: Pioneers and Notables of Galveston’s Black Music History, at the Galveston Island Convention Center. 

 

The event will combine the celebration of Juneteenth with Black Music Month. It will include panel discussions and entertainment depicting various genres including gospel, jazz, rhythm and blues, classical music, and hip hop.
