Making God Laugh at Theatre Suburbia

Theatre Suburbia in Northwest Houston presents Making God Laugh, which follows a typical American family over the course of 30 years' worth of holidays.

Starting in 1980, Ruthie and Bill's grown children—a priest, an aspiring actress, and a former football star— all return home, where they share their plans and dreams as they embark on adulthood. The empty-nester parents contend with their own changes too, as old family rituals are trotted out and ancient tensions flare up. As time passes, the family discovers that, despite what we may have in mind, we often arrive at unexpected destinations.  Someone once said "If you wanna make God laugh, tell Him your plans."

Theatre Suburbia is one of Houston's longest running all-volunteer theaters.

Tickets are $18 for evening shows; $16 for Sunday matinees; $16 for students with valid IDs. Order tickets or learn more. or call 713-682-3525.
