Home to the Houston Dynamo and Houston Dash soccer teams, Shell Energy Stadium is perched at the heart of the city’s rapidly evolving EaDo neighborhood, immediately east of Downtown. Each fall, the stadium also serves as the home of the Texas Southern University Tigers football team. The 340,000-square foot open air stadium rests on 12 acres, seating up to 22,000 people in its stands, along with additional club viewing suites and facilities. Throughout the year, Shell Energy Stadium also hosts exhibition games; World Cup and Olympic qualifying competitions, and matches between visiting international futball teams. The stadium was known by the moniker BBVA Compass Stadium, then shortened to BBVA Stadium in 2019, and PNC Stadium in 2021 before changing sponsors completely to Shell Energy in 2023.
